Philip Thompson

VP Land

Mr. Thompson is an expert in land management, having spent his career leading leasing and diligence efforts in multiple onshore North American unconventional basins, including the Permian, Fort Worth, Gulf Coast, East Texas, North Louisiana and Powder River. He has been instrumental in developing the proprietary methodology and technology that the land department implements to greatly improve target identification and capture cycle times, providing Elephant with a distinct competitive advantage. Prior to joining Elephant Oil & Gas as Vice President, Land, Mr. Thompson served as Land Manager of Talon Oil & Gas III and Senior Landman with a prior iteration of Elephant. At Talon III and Elephant he managed the acquisition and divestiture of more than 170,000 acres in the Permian Basin, South Texas and North Texas as well as supervised due diligence efforts on targets across Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Kansas and Colorado.

Mr. Thompson began his career with Dale Resources, where he worked in various roles and obtained extensive experience across Texas and Louisiana, working in the Barnett Shale, Permian Basin and Haynesville.

Mr. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. He is a Certified Professional Landman.
